Erith scouts go behind the scenes at Welling supermarket
Beaver and Cub scouts from 18th Erith were invited behind the scene of a Welling supermarket, to earn their farm to fork badge.
The scouts were invited along to the Tesco store in Welling, where they were taught how to gut a fish and completed challenges to find out more about where their food comes from.
Louise Holdridge, 18th Erith Leader said: “The scouts all had a great time, it was certainly a little different to our usual weekly meetings.
Corporate responsibility director at Tesco, Josh Hardie, said: “Cubs and Beavers have a remarkable desire to experience new things, work outside of their comfort zone and explore every adventure they can – all of which makes the perfect foundation for broadening culinary horizons.
“We want to improve the next generation’s relationship with food and this partnership with The Scout Association will really take the project to the next level.”
